The Catron County Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) has been developed to identify land in Catron County at risk from severe wildfire threat and to prioritize those risks. This information can be used by all landowners and land managers (governments, agencies and individuals) to create strategies for hazardous fuels reduction and healthy forest restoration which will protect private and public lands and infrastructure from catastrophic wildfire.

This Plan is the result of the collaborative efforts of Catron County government, state and federal agencies, County rural fire departments, and private citizens, and represents more than two years of effort. It contains over 30 pages of maps, many supportive charts and tables, and the latest on GIS technology.
