Independence Day Celebration in Quemado, NM
These Independence Day community events are brought about through the hard work of the members and associates of the Quemado Auxiliary (a New Mexico non-profit corporation), the Quemado, Quemado Lake, Pie Town and Red Hill Volunteer Fire Departments, and community-minded volunteers from northern Catron County.
Funds for Independence Day events are raised solely through donations to the Quemado Auxiliary. If you wish, you may make a donation to Quemado Auxiliary at any time during the year. We will soon be able to accept credit cards, but in the meantime, you can mail your check to:

Additionally, a Quemado Auxiliary volunteer (this year the wonderful Norma Burns) will visit past donors and new businesses in the Quemado area.
Quemado Auxiliary board members consist of: Yvonne Armstrong, President; Kim Carr, Vice-president;, Lif Strand, Secretary/Treasurer. The Auxiliary's purpose, as stated in the Articles of Incorporation filed with the State of New Mexico, is: To promote economic development of and support for the Quemado Fire Department, the village of Quemado and surrounding communities.
